Synopses & Reviews
Microsoft Project is project management software that allows users to manage their business activities effectively. Users can manage resources, share project info, perform modeling and scenario analyses, and standardize reporting processes. Project is actually a family of products, which includes Project Server. Project Server allows Web-based projects to be managed across organizations and in multiple locations. When Project is used together with Project Server, the software is considered Enterprise project management software.
The current version of Project, 2002, was released in May 2002. The next release, on which this book is based, is expected out in August 2003. Project typically updates every two years. However, Microsoft is updating Project sooner, since there are installation and other problems with the Project Server component of the 2002 version. Project 2002 standard version retails at $599.00; Project Professional sells for $999; Project Server sells for $1,499. Project has a strong international presence and is available in many languages.
